The festival will take place from 3rd-9th May 2010. The climax of this week will then be a festival of music and arts taking place over the weekend and running alongside Headingley Development Trust's monthly Farmers' Market. Bands include Louise Gibbs Quartet, The Benson Burner, Bassa Bassa, Alexis Cairns Trio, 'A Tribute to Atlantic Jazz', Tom Neale Jazz Trio, North Leeds Jazz Orchestra. There will also be an exciting and innovative project, students from Ralph Thoresby School and Leeds Youth Jazz/Rock Orchestra will perform music and drama based on a selection of works by jazz legend Charles Mingus including 'Self Portrait in Three Colours', 'Tonight at Noon' and 'Eclipse'. The music and text selected will be further enhanced with visual imagery using original artwork by students, which relates to the chosen pieces.
